What mentorship will Involve
We are looking for mentors for either our Investment Readiness Accelerator or Business Foundation Accelerator program. At the start of each program cycle mentors will be matched with entrepreneurs based on their skills and expertise, the industry they predominantly work in and the impact they wish to achieve.
The mentorship will entail one-on-one tailored consultations with the entrepreneurs during the workshops organised throughout the program. The time commitment is usually up to 8 – 10 hours spread over a 90 day period. The mentorship can be provided remotely through virtual tools – even better if it is possible for you to provide this in person. After the completion of the program mentors are encouraged to keep in touch with the entrepreneurs to provide ongoing advice, potential market linkages and other network connections that will help these social enterprises to thrive.
Mentorship Impact - Entrepreneur & You
Your mentorship will play a crucial role in the success of entrepreneurs in Tanzania by providing them with the guidance, skills, and networks needed to navigate business challenges. Experienced mentors help entrepreneurs refine their business strategies, improve financial management, and develop leadership skills, increasing their chances of long-term success.
Beyond practical skills, mentorship fosters confidence and resilience, enabling entrepreneurs to overcome market barriers and seize growth opportunities. With limited access to capital and formal business education, many Tanzanian entrepreneurs rely on mentorship to bridge knowledge gaps and gain industry insights.
Additionally, mentorship helps businesses become more investment-ready, scale their operations, and create sustainable jobs, ultimately contributing to economic growth and community development. By sharing expertise, mentors empower entrepreneurs to build innovative, impactful businesses that drive lasting change in Tanzania.
Our past mentors have found that their participation in our programs was a deeply rewarding experience that offers personal and professional growth. By sharing their expertise, our mentors refined their own leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills, gaining fresh perspectives on business challenges and innovation in emerging markets.
The mentorship journey fosters a strong sense of fulfillment, as mentors witness firsthand the tangible impact they make—helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, create jobs, and uplift communities. It also provides a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange, expanding mentors’ understanding of local markets, entrepreneurship dynamics, and sustainable business practices in Tanzania.
Additionally, mentorship strengthens professional networks, opening doors to new collaborations, investments, and business opportunities. In supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs, our mentors have found that they not only contribute to economic development but also gain a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration in their own careers.
