The Restoration Factory Tanzania

Introduction

The Restoration Factory Tanzania is a national business incubation initiative supporting climate-smart entrepreneurs working to restore landscapes, strengthen community livelihoods, and build climate resilience. Implemented by Anza Entrepreneurs in collaboration with the Vice President’s Office of Tanzania, UNEP, IUCN, and Bridge for Billions, the program provides training, mentorship, and practical tools for entrepreneurs to turn innovative environmental solutions into sustainable, scalable businesses.

Our Approach

Our approach combines structured business incubation with localized and inclusive support. We build entrepreneurs’ skills using the Bridge for Billions methodology, helping them strengthen their business models and strategies. Each entrepreneur is paired with an experienced mentor who provides guidance and accountability throughout the program. We collaborate with local hubs, universities, community organizations, and government stakeholders to ensure the program is relevant and accessible. By adapting our delivery to local languages, connectivity levels, and on-the-ground realities, we ensure that rural and peri-urban entrepreneurs can fully participate and benefit.

Target Impact

The Restoration Factory Tanzania aims to accelerate the growth of environmentally restorative ventures in priority landscapes while strengthening local value chains and creating green employment opportunities. The program promotes regenerative agriculture, reforestation, sustainable energy solutions, and community-led conservation as key drivers of resilience. By building a strong network of committed mentors and investors, we support climate-positive enterprise development that can scale sustainably. Through this work, we contribute to improving long-term ecosystem health and resilience across Tanzania’s landscapes and directly support the country’s national climate goals and global restoration commitments.
